Mircea Geoana, former deputy secretary general of NATO and prominent Romanian politician, had dinner at Salar with Tino Cuellar, president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and former justice of the Supreme Court of California. Geoana said he was impressed by the Courthouse Square fountain ringed by quotes from U.S. presidents who visited Dayton over the years.

As part of the investigation, state Rep. Phil Plummer, R-Butler Twp. was interviewed by state investigators in February 2024. The interview revolved around a conversation the two had in which Plummer found Creech to be making light of the allegations he was facing from a teenage minor female. “So, to me, that’s disgusting and uncalled for,” Plummer told state investigators. “I’m not sure if it’s a total criminal element here, but it’s uncalled for.

May 20—A cyberattack is causing a system-wide technology outage at Kettering Health, forcing some medical procedures to be canceled, bringing down phone lines and the MyChart patient portal and diverting emergency crews to other facilities. "Earlier this morning, Kettering Health experienced a system-wide technology outage that is causing challenges to many of our patient care systems across the organization," Kettering Health said in an organizational statement.

“So they will have to stop employing them if their legal status changes, if it goes from legal to not. So that is a big concern,” DeWine said. The Trump administration has worked aggressively to revoke the legal status of Haitians in the U.S. on programs such as humanitarian parole and Temporary Protected Status. This includes many of the estimated 12,000 to 15,000 Haitians in the Springfield area. ExploreEfforts to speed up the process has been stymied by the courts.
