Leafing through books at the Penobscot Children’s Library brings these women back to 1975. They were all young mothers at that time, and very good friends. “Taking turns babysitting for the kids and creating activities for them,” recalls Patty Hutchins. At that time, Maine had a “Right to Read” summer book program.

    LIMESTONE, Maine (WABI) - The current 69th Bomb Squadron, stationed in North Dakota, flew to Loring Air Force Base this weekend for a reunion. Its Lead Crew Chief is a native from Winterport. Staff Sargeant Kaylie LePage became a Crew Chief in 2018. That’s the same year she went into the United States Air Force after graduating from Hampden Academy. In 2021, LePage was named the Lead Crew Chief. She oversees 10 to 15 airmen at any given time as well as the maintenance of her jet.

    BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Summertime for many of our viewers means tart time at Frank’s Bake Shop in Bangor. It’s a tradition that’s been around since the 90s. Raspberry tarts are their most famous.
