(Olivia MN-) A pre-trial hearing took place in Renville County District Court Tuesday morning for a Renville man accused of murdering another man nearly 4 years ago. Last fall the Minnesota Supreme Court ordered 28-year-old Julian Valdez be retried for the shooting death of 31-year-old Pablo Gutierrez. Valdez was convicted of killing the Renville man outside Valdez' home in August of 2021 after he said Gutierrez was assaulting his step brother.

(Willmar MN-) A new era in economic development begins today in Kandiyohi County. Barbara Carr begins her tenure as the county's new economic development chief. Steve Gardner, Chair of the Kandiyohi County Board and of the Kandiyohi County Economic Development Commission Joint Powers Board says Carr was chosen over current KCED Interim Director Michelle Marotzke and Edgar Cabezas after final interviews March 21st.

(Cokato MN-) An Annandale woman was hurt in a crash between two SUVs in Cokato Tuesday morning. The state patrol says it was reported at 9:49 a.m. on Highway 12 at Jackson Avenue. A Hyundai SUV driven by 32-year-old Kelsey Zieman of Annandale was westbound on 12 and a Chevy Trailblazer driven by 41-year-old Israel Salinas-Cruz of Willmar was eastbound when they collided. Salinaz-Cruz was not injured, but Zieman was taken to the Buffalo Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

(Roscoe MN-) A Cold Spring man was hurt when his pickup struck a deer near Cold Spring Tuesday night. The state patrol says it was reported at 8:36 p.m. on Highway 23 between Paynesville and Roscoe. 77-year-old Eugene Wold was traveling northbound when he struck the deer. Wold was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
