(Chanhassen MN-) The National Weather Service warns to an elevated fire danger in the local area. They say temperatures rising into the 80s this afternoon within a dry environment will cause minimum relative humidity values to drop to between 20 and 25 percent. Winds will shift from southwest to northwest as a cold front moves across the area this afternoon and evening with speeds around 10 mph. Gusts could reach 15 mph.
Pickup collides with semi trailer near Danube

(Danube MN-) No one was seriously injured in a pickup-semi crash in Renville County Thursday morning. The sheriff's department says it was reported at 5:46 a.m. at the intersection of County Roads 1 and 4, about 8 miles south of Danube. A pickup driven by 46-year-old Ryan Hendrickson of Richland Washington was southbound on County Road 1, and apparently drifted into the northbound lane and struck the tires of the trailer of a northbound semi, causing the pickup to roll into the ditch.
Willmar truck driver hurt in crash in Hutchinson

(Hutchinson MN-) A Willmar man was seriously injured in a semi crash south of Hutchinson Thursday morning. The State Patrol says 58-year-old Jose Alvarez of Willmar was taken to HCMC in Minneapolis for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The Patrol says Alvarez was traveling eastbound on Airport Road when he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled just west of Highway 15. The crash happened at about 7am.
Search for missing St. Augusta woman canceled...Philippi found deceased in Willmar

(Willmar MN-) The search for a missing St. Augusta woman has come to a sad end in Willmar. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office has canceled the attempt to locate 48-year-old Rebecca Lynn Philippi. They say she was found deceased in the City of Willmar on May 6th. Foul play is not suspected, and no suspects are being sought in this case. She was reported missing May 1st by her family, and she was last known to be in the Willmar area.

Small fire reported at Meeker County Jail

(Litchfield MN-) On May 7, 2025, at 1:19 p.m., The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a fire in the Meeker County Jail. Deputies and the Litchfield Fire Department responded to the scene. A small fire was started from construction sparks in a jail cell. The fire was extinguished by maintenance staff with a fire extinguisher. The jail was ventilated by Litchfield Fire Department. There were no injuries or damage reported from the fire.
Two hurt in crash near Clarkfield

(Clarkfield MN-) Two people were hurt in an SUV-mini-van crash in Yellow Medicine County Wednesday. The state patrol says it was reported at 11:18 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 59 and County Road 5, about five miles north of Clarkfield. An SUV driven by 49-year-old Dewayne Clark of Montevideo was southbound on 59 and a mini-van driven by 69-year-old Darren Byrnes of Maynard was westbound on County Road 5 when they collided.

(Willmar MN-) The Willmar Police Department is seeking the public's help locating two missing juveniles: 16-year-old Angel Perez-Ortiz and 15-year-old Brianna Marie Holland. There is concern for their safety and well-being. They were last seen together on foot leaving the 800 block of Park Avenue Northwest in Willmar Monday at approximately 5:12 p.m. Perez-Ortiz is an hispanic male with a light complexion, 5 foot 7, 170 pounds, curly dark brown hair and brown eyes.
Missing woman from St. Augusta sought

(St. Augusta MN-) The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance looking for a missing person. On May 1, 2025, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office took the report of a missing person from family members in the St. Augusta area. The investigation determined that Rebecca Lynn Philippi, 48, of St. Augusta, had left the location where she was staying, and family members were unable to reach or locate her. The family also communicated a concern for her welfare.
