It’s safe to assume Reed Garris gave Erik Bakich and the entire Clemson fan base a bit of a scare in the No. 9 Tigers’ 9-7 series-opening win over Duke on Friday. Despite giving up two earned runs in Friday’s series-opening win over Duke, the most he’s allowed in any appearance all season, Garris has been one of Clemson’s most dependable relievers. The hard-throwing right-hander came into Friday sporting a minuscule ERA of 0.69 with 29 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched.

What a difference a year has made for Cade Klubnik. Coming off a sophomore campaign that was littered with inconsistency, many were questioning Klubnik’s ability to lead the Clemson offense. One person who remained steadfast in his belief was his head coach, Dabo Swinney. In the lead-up to the 2024 campaign, Swinney maintained that Klubnik was the right man for the job.

Clemson already boasts one of the best groups of wide receivers in the 2026 class. The Tigers have three wideouts currently committed, with each ranking as a four-star talent. Naeem Burroughs, the first to commit back during the Elite Retreat, is ranked as high as No. 24 overall. He is also ranked as the second-best receiver in the class per On3. Connor Salmin, who committed just after Burroughs, is considered a Top 150 talent, as is Gordon Sellars, who announced last month.

Clemson has handed out a new offer. Offensive lineman Fletcher Turk (Hebron, Dacula, GA) announced an offer from the Tigers late Sunday. The 6-foot-6, 280-pound recruit now has well over a dozen offers, including Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Wake Forest and UCF. Clemson has been recruiting Turk for months now. Offensive line coach Matt Luke visited him during the contact period back in January. Luke watched one of Turk’s basketball games.

My, how quickly things can change. Two weeks ago, the Clemson Baseball team was riding high. The Tigers were headed to Raleigh fresh off a win over a Top 5 Georgia team. The Tigers were 36-10 overall, 13-5 in ACC play and firmly entrenched as a Top 8 national seed heading into that three-game set at NC State. Since then, the wheels have fallen off. The Tigers were swept by the Wolfpack in rather dominating fashion.
