About 11:50 p.m. Thursday, an officer initiated a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Point Mallard Parkway. As the officer approached the vehicle, which was occupied by a male driver and female passenger, police say the driver fled and initiated a chase that proceeded southbound on Interstate 65.

According to police, he is employed by the Etowah County Board of Education. Police say they were initially contacted about a sexual assault on Thursday. During the investigation, police say the 14-year-old female victim identified Brock as the suspect.

A bicyclist was taken to the hospital early Friday morning after colliding with a vehicle, according to Huntsville Police. About 5 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the traffic incident at the intersection of Governors Drive and Summer Street. Police say the bicyclist sustained serious injuries. Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Governors Drive when the bicyclist entered the center lane and was struck.

A Moulton man is accused of impersonating a Drug Enforcement Administration officer in Colbert County, according to court documents. Documents state 46-year-old Daniel Bryson Thomas showed up on Monday to an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union building, located at 1803 E. 17th Street in Sheffield, after being fired from his job. When he arrived, Thomas allegedly pretended to be with the DEA and told two people he was going to arrest them.
