COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - It was an exciting day for the newest members of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets as they marched at Fish Review. The morning began at the Quad with step-off. Cadets then marched to Simpson Drill Field for Fish Review. On the field, the new cadets promised they are committed to the discipline of being in the Corps of Cadets. The Corps Commander, Deandre Macri, says this is an exciting time for the new member class.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) -College Station’s Fun for All Playground hosted its annual Bowl-a-Thon at Grand Station Entertainment. The money raised at the Bowl-a-Thon event will help fund Phase 3 of the Fun for All playground, which includes a fishing pier, quiet area, and stick forest. There was bowling, food, and a silent auction at the event. The event sponsor, H-E-B of Bryan-College Station, said there were twelve teams bowling today with people of any disabilities.

BRAZOS VALLEY, Texas (KBTX) - A multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 6 and FM 2549 resulted in the death of a woman, and sent three others to a nearby hospital with injuries. DPS investigators said a truck pulling a trailer hit a sedan while turning onto the highway. The sedan hit a hatchback vehicle, and then spun into traffic, hitting an 18-wheeler head-on. The driver of the sedan who died in the crash was identified as Diana Burleson, 66, of Franklin.

GRIMES COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - Anderson-Shiro Consolidated ISD kicked off its school year Wednesday. The superintendent of Anderson-Shiro Consolidated ISD, Sarah Borowiez, told KBTX the district is growing as enrollment is up and they’re ready for a great year. “We had a great first day of school. We had lots of parents, lots of kids coming in, getting excited to walk to class this morning,“ said Supt. Borowiez. ”Our theme this year is to make this year epic.
