Grotts was stabbed to death Saturday inside her home on Dunsbach Way, near Lake Mead and Hollywood boulevards.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – An arrest report obtained by 8 News Now details what led up to a hit-and-run crash that killed a 33-year-old man in the northwest valley. Officers took 63-year-old Karen Cannon into custody Wednesday in connection with the case. She was released on a $150,000 bail a day later. 33-year-old Patrick Deloriea died on May 13 when a Tesla hit him and left the scene at the intersection of Vegas Drive and Rainbow Boulevard, according to police.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A severe thunderstorm warning issued in the northeast Las Vegas valley on Monday night brought wind gusts, lightning, and rain to the area. The thunderstorm warning was issued shortly after 7:30 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. and impacted areas included neighborhoods near Nellis, Sunrise Manor, and Henderson. Shortly before 9 p.m. on Monday, Harry Reid International Airport reported departures were delayed an average of 15 minutes due to thunderstorm activity.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A plant recycling event of sorts took place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Tuesday, giving community members the chance to select plants and trees that were originally used at the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC). EDC organizers and Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick have teamed up for the giveaway, which is now in its fifth year. About $200,000 in plants and trees will be donated to the community throughout the week.
