On March 26, the Marine Mammal Stranding Center received an urgent call about a gray seal pup entangled in fishing line in North Beach. Since his subsequent rescue by MMSC staff, the male seal has been at the nonprofit’s facility in Brigantine, where he is currently “doing well,” according to Stranding Coordinator Jay Pagel. When they found patient MMSC-25-038, staff members said, “he was wrapped in a small section of monofilament line, possibly a gill net.
