    Mehul Choksi, the former Indian diamond mogul who fled India in 2018 following charges of bank fraud, was arrested on April 12 in Belgium, according to numerous reports. Choksi had moved to the Caribbean island of Antigua, which has no extradition treaty with India, after India’s Central Bureau of Investigation accused him of bilking state-owned PNB Bank in 2018. In 2021, he was arrested when he attempted to enter nearby Dominica, but he was eventually returned to Antigua.

Gilcher, an advertising major at Michigan State University who has worked in luxury estate sales, says people love watching her open up bags and boxes of undisclosed jewelry she buys at thrift stores or online at Facebook Marketplace.

    A new Plumb Club survey found that independent retailers remain consumers’ No. 1 choice for where to buy jewelry, favored by 43% of respondents. National chains were next, selected by 23% of those polled by the Plumb Club. Some 13% of consumers prefer buying jewelry at department stores, while 12% said they prefer to buy online.
