Murfreesboro Police Department said Marquavious Hampton, 24, became angry over the child’s mother playing loud music. This led to an argument that escalated into a physical fight.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A new bill introduced in Tennessee would train tattoo artists to spot human trafficking. Senate Bill 0171 (also House Bill 0182) or “The Ink of Hope Act” was introduced to the state Senate on Wednesday. This bill would require tattoo operators and artists to complete one-hour training on recognizing and reporting signs of human trafficking. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Another Tennessee lawmaker is pushing to eliminate the state’s grocery tax. State Rep. Elaine Davis (R-Knoxville) introduced the bill on Thursday. House Bill 21 would end the state tax on groceries without raising taxes on businesses, Davis said. The proposal would also allow counties to implement a grocery sales tax if approved by local lawmakers.

(WSMV) - Two fugitives out of Memphis were arrested in Nashville on Friday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department. “Through several hours of surveillance, detectives were able to corroborate information from the Memphis Police Department that the men were here," MNPD said. Police said that 23-year-old Kaimon Carwell and 20-year-old Marvin Roper traveled to a “short-term rental” property on Fitzgerald Drive in the Donelson area.

The TBI issued an Endangered Child Alert for 1-year-old Rico Delk and 3-month-old Elijah Delk and reported they were likely with their ‘non-custodial mother,” 39-year-old Sarah Myers. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - UPDATE: According to police, 24-year-old Vonquae Johnson died and nine others were injured. Police believe the shooting was a result of two groups shooting at each other from opposite sides of the street. The shooting occurred near Tennessee State University at around 5:30 p.m. around 20 minutes after the street reopened from the parade on Saturday morning.
