Pope Francis, the first Latin American pontiff, died Monday. He was 88. Francis visited Philadelphia in 2015, attracting hundreds of thousands of people to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the World Meeting of Families. WGAL News 8 was there to cover the event, where the Pope held Mass for the massive crowd. Francis spent six days in the United States during that trip. Cedric Lodge, the former morgue manager at Harvard Medical School, will plead guilty in federal court to trafficking human remains across multiple states, including Pennsylvania. Prosecutors say Lodge was part of a nationwide ring stealing and selling body parts. Lodge will plead guilty to one count of interstate transport of stolen goods. He could be sentenced to 10 years in prison and pay a $250,000 fine. A hearing has not been scheduled yet.

The federal government is revoking the visas for two current students and five recent graduates at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, including 24-year-old Jayson Ma.Ma, a Chinese national, has been living in Pittsburgh since 2016. He learned his student visa was revoked after receiving a call from the school.His attorney said Ma has not received official documentation telling him to leave, so he is still attending classes. The attorney also said Ma has no criminal record.

ONCE COMPLETED, THE VETERANS VILLAGE WILL HOUSE MORE THAN 80 VETERANS. SERVICES WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE TO HELP PEOPLE GET BACK ON THEIR FEET.
