    Thunder Over Louisville, a major airshow and fireworks display, has been canceled for only the second time in its 36-year history. The cancellation, announced on April 5, 2025, was due to severe flooding and unsafe conditions along the Ohio River. The event, originally themed "Happy Thunder: It's Glow Time!", serves as the opening ceremony for the Kentucky Derby Festival. For only the second time in its 36th year history, Thunder Over Louisville has been canceled.
