KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas lawmakers are considering a bill that would make it a felony for a registered sex offender to attend school events or enter school property. This follows an incident at a Blue Valley elementary school dance in February. There was a hearing on Tuesday on Senate Bill 288. According to the bill, it would make it a felony for any person 18 or older who is a registered sex offender to enter onto school property if their underlying offense involved a child.
