ABOUT $20,000 IN DAMAGE. WELL, SCAMS INVOLVING CRYPTOCURRENCY STEALING OVER $1.3 MILLION FROM LANCASTER COUNTY RESIDENTS. LINCOLN POLICE SAY TWO BROTHERS, AGED 76 AND 77, ARE IMPACTED BY THAT ONLINE TRADING SCAM. THAT SCHEME BEGAN IN NOVEMBER 2024, WHERE THE SCAMMER CLAIMED TO INVEST THE MONEY INTO STOCKS AND CRYPTOCURRENCY ONLINE. THE PLATFORM TURNED OUT TO BE FRAUDULENT. THE VICTIMS DISCOVERED THE FRAUD WHEN THE STOCK MARKET DROPPED, AND THEY ATTEMPTED TO WITHDRAW SOME MONEY FROM THE FAKE ACCOUNTS.

A Lincoln man is in jail, accused of threatening a woman and firing several bullets into a television Thursday night.According to police, someone called 911 about Jose Santillan Jr., 48, arguing with a woman around 8:30 p.m. near 55th and Sumner streets. Police say Santillan Jr. threatened to hurt the woman and fired several rounds from a gun into a television. Five children were reportedly in the house at the time.Santillan Jr. drove off in a truck with the gun, police said.

An Omaha-based mental health therapist pleaded no contest to Medicaid fraud. In a news release, the Nebraska attorney general said Pamela Helem pleaded no contest to the felony charge and was ordered to serve five years probation and pay $60,000 in restitution to Nebraska's Medicaid program. The 69-year-old from Papillion reportedly owned and operated Helem's Counseling and Consulting in Omaha.
