    Nearly every county in Idaho held a consolidated election on Tuesday. More than two dozen Idaho school districts asked voters to approve funding, either through levies or bonds. In total, they added up to nearly a quarter of a billion dollars, with a handful passing across the state. Here’s a breakdown of the top races. The Middleton School District asked voters to approve a $19.9 million bond to build a new elementary school to deal with overcrowding. The 20 year bond failed to get a supermajority.

    Bryan Kohberger, the man suspected of killing four University of Idaho students in 2022, appeared in court Thursday. Fourth district judge Steven Hippler issued a written order following the public portion of the hearing, demanding both parties retain documents and communication records, following what he wrote was the broadcast of sensitive case information on the television show "Dateline" last week. Hippler in open court asked prosecutors to recommend names to lead an investigation.

    More adults are getting diagnosed with ADHD and autism every year. In 2023, the CDC estimated 15.5 million adults in the United States had a current ADHD diagnosis and just over half were diagnosed as an adult. For autism, and men are nearly four times more likely to be diagnosed compared to women. Autism is a neurological disorder that affects things like social skills and communication. In Idaho, around 30,000 adults have an autism diagnosis, according to the National Library of Medicine.

    Boise Mayor Lauren McLean responded to a letter from Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador earlier this month, saying the City is “flying two flags in defiance of the law.”That law is the recently passed House Bill 96 and it prohibits non-official flags from being displayed on government property. The statute does not define the type of crime violators are committing nor which penalties they should face.

    Idaho's tax season has begun, and if you're new to the state or just need a refresher on how to file your taxes, we have you covered. You can file your taxes starting on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025. The Idaho State Tax Commission says the state expects to process over 1.03 million income tax returns in 2025. The commission also says it is participating in the IRS Direct File program and an estimated 210,000 Idaho taxpayers will be eligible to use the free program. Am I required to file?
