DENVER — The above-average temperatures stick around to start the week across Colorado. Expect highs to soar to the low 90s in Denver this afternoon. The I-25 corridor could see a stray shower or storm this evening as clouds increase, but most of the activity will be across the Eastern Plains. A line of strong to possibly severe storms will develop between Fort Morgan and Limon, bringing potential for downpours, frequent lightning, damaging winds, and large hail.

We're in for a sizzling Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 80s under a mostly sunny sky in Denver. A few late-day thunderstorms will be possible, with a marginal risk of severe weather in stronger storm cells that form. So far, it looks like the 80+ degree heat sticks around into early next week, with the stormy afternoon weather pattern remaining.

It's been a cool and soggy Memorial Day weekend, at the wet weather is set to return by Monday afternoon. It will feel more like early spring than late May, with highs running 10 to 15 degrees below normal. Expect clouds to start, but drier conditions, ahead of off-and-on rain showers starting up this afternoon as a weather system slowly moves across the state. While it won’t be a total washout, outdoor plans might need some flexibility, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.
