LOUISVILLE, Colo. — Xcel Energy is proposing a statewide plan that aims to protect Colorado customers from "the increasing threat of wildfire" by building upon programs already working to minimize risks from electric equipment. The 2025-2027 Wildfire Mitigation Plan has been submitted to the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC), which still must approve it. According to those with the PUC, parts of the plan could be changed, modified, or amended throughout this process.

DENVER — On Monday evening, a number of South Broadway businesses addressed the Denver City Council, urging members to invest in the new stadium proposal for Denver's National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) team. It will be the first women's professional sports team in a major national league to call Denver home. In March, plans were unveiled for a 14,500-seat stadium in the area of Broadway and Interstate 25, known as Santa Fe Yards.

DENVER — A new proposal would give Colorado voters a bigger role in deciding who represents them whenever a state lawmaker resigns before their term is complete. However, the measure is drawing criticism from some who say it still doesn’t solve a bigger problem. Currently, when a legislative seat becomes vacant in Colorado, political party insiders—not voters—choose the replacement through a vacancy committee. The process is designed to be fast, so the seat doesn’t remain vacant for long.
