LONE TREE, Colo. — One person died after reports of driving a car off a ramp onto light rail tracks, according to South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR). It happened shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday in Lone Tree near the C-470 and I-25 interchange. Crews are working to move the train in order to also move the car that's pinned.

DENVER — The introduction of organized elementary sports in Denver Public Schools (DPS) is creating a buzz, with the ELCSports program leading the way. ELCSports program director Jesse Broadfoot said the district’s commitment to out-of-school-time offerings led to the creation of a new model: elementary athletics. "A really important piece of this program is to expose students to athletics at an earlier age," Broadfoot said.

DENVER — At the Cedar Run Apartments in Denver, Wednesday began with a flurry of federal agents conducting one of several law enforcement operations. “We were hit with something really unexpected and scary,” resident Hannah Stickline told Denver7 Thursday. There were no raids at the property Thursday, but a letter was left on every apartment door warning of such operations. Stickline said she noticed one on her door early Thursday afternoon.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Thatcher Demko stopped 25 shots for his ninth career shutout and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-0. Jake DeBrusk had a goal and an assist, Brock Boeser and D rew O'Connor also scored and Filip had two assists to help the Canucks pull into a tie with Calgary for the second wild card in the Western Conference. DENVER (AP) — Jonathan Drouin had two goals and an assist, Mackenzie Blackwood had 19 saves, and the Avalanche used a four-goal first period to beat the St. Louis Blues 5-0. Martin Necas scored his first goal with Colorado since he and Jack Drury were acquired from Carolina for pending unrestricted free agent Mikko Rantanen on Jan. 24.
