    LOGAN COUNTY, Colo. — A pedestrian who was walking along a road in Logan County died after he was hit by equipment that a tractor driver was hauling, Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said. Around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, troopers with the CSP responded to a call about a crash involving a pedestrian on Logan County Road 53 about 0.4 miles north of Highway 138, said CSP Trooper Gabriel Molter.

    SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. — A grass fire that broke out near the Whole Foods in Frisco has been contained. Summit Fire & EMS said the fire was reported just before 5 p.m. Saturday in the willows near the grocery store. Firefighters from both Summit Fire & EMS and Red, White & Blue Fire began working to contain the flames.

    BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A man died in a head-on crash on southbound Highway 287 on Thursday afternoon, Broomfield police said on Friday. Around 5:10 p.m. Thursday, the Broomfield Police Department posted on social media that the southbound lanes were closed from Miramonte Boulevard to W. Dillon Road for a serious crash with two involved vehicles. One northbound lane was also closed. Police said two people were transported to the hospital.

    JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — The driver who pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a hit-and-run crash in 2024, which left a Lakewood parafencer dead, was sentenced to prison on Friday morning. Jimmy Lee Chavez, 41, of Commerce City had pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury and accessory to a crime on March 17, 2025. Both charges are felonies. As part of the plea deal, the other changes against him were dismissed.
