Collision Cam works with local businesses and residents to install traffic cameras at crash-prone intersections throughout the state and provide footage of crashes from the cams to drivers free of charge. For drivers, the cameras are a welcome sight.

SALT LAKE CITY — It's no secret that Utah is growing at a rapid rate, and in parts of the state, it's causing congestion on our roads. Utah Department of Transportation officials are trying to address some of those concerns, although changes to roadways don't happen overnight. But one area of concern, Kimball Junction, is seeing traffic backing up onto Interstate 80, causing frustration and potential safety concerns for drivers.

SALT LAKE CITY — While the winter storm that impacted much of northern Utah has left our area roads are still seeing the impacts of the storm. More than 50 crashes have been reported as of 6:45 a.m. according to Utah Highway Patrol. The Utah Department of Transportation has also implemented some road restrictions due to the slick roads. Big Cottonwood Canyon is currently open, but traction laws are in effect. Little Cottonwood Canyon is currently closed due to avalanche mitigation in the area.

SALT LAKE CITY — With just weeks remaining until the current winter season comes to a close, Utahns are reflecting on the amount of snow they’ve seen... or haven't seen. “This is very mild, very mild,” said one resident, echoing the comments of many. “I wouldn't even consider it winter."As always, Utah Department of Transportation crews have been at the ready should they be needed, but between this season and last, they haven’t had to plow nearly as many roads as they did in the winter of 2023.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Public Safety has released its annual report for 2024. In the report, the department compared statistics to the prior year of 2023. While some of the findings posed concerns regarding road safety, other trends were positive. Utah Highway Patrol DUI arrests went up 9.6 percent from 2023 to 2024. Reckless driving, which is considered going 105 miles per hour or more, went up 39 percent.
