Malaysia’s SD Guthrie International Limited (SDGI) has acquired a 48% equity stake in Netherlands-based Marvesa for €54m (US$55.4m), strengthening its position in the European feed and biofuel industries and enhancing its capabilities in supplying high-quality oils and fats. The stake was purchased from Dutch private equity firm Parcom, while the remaining 52% remains with BGR Beheer, the holding company owned by Marvesa’s executive management.

In a survey of 1,040 UK and US consumers commissioned by Ingredient Communications and conducted by SurveyGoo, 83% of shoppers said companies should declare if a food or beverage is designed or manufactured with AI. Almost two-thirds (64%) of shoppers believe foods and beverages made with AI should not be considered “natural,” while only 12% disagreed with that.
