DANVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — As we continue our Spotlight on Danville coverage, we look at one school that has been making a difference in the deaf community for 200 years. Kentucky School for the Deaf sits on Second Street right in the center of Danville in Boyle County. First built in April 1823, the school was created by the general assembly. They welcome everyone in Kentucky who is deaf from the age of three to 21. "So that means it's been 200 years now.

NICHOLASVILLE, KY. (LEX 18) — The Nicholasville Police Department has invested in a new portable automated external defibrillator device to hopefully increase response times to cardiac emergencies and reduce the opioid overdose fatality rate. The new life-saving device was pitched to Chief Michael Fleming of the Nicholasville Police Department and Jessamine County Sheriff's Office by the Chief of Jessamine County EMS.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — After years of planning and patience, Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton cut the ribbon to signify the official opening of the city's newest park, Kelley's Landing. Amanda Jones is the youngest daughter of the late John Kelley, of which the park if named after. "I grew up getting to come play on this land and it I know for me and my siblings we grew up on the banks of the Kentucky river," she said.

(LEX 18) — Non-profits have come from all over to help Laurel County at a time when they need it most, and a disaster relief organization out of Louisiana has been finding and returning irreplaceable items to tornado victims. It's day eight of volunteers cleaning up what an EF-4 tornado left behind in London. LEX 18 caught up with one of the non-profits, United Cajun Navy, out of Louisiana.

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Hundreds of volunteers have spent the past week cleaning up after an EF-4 tornado bulldozed it's way through Pulaski County, and inmates made up the list of volunteers. This last week, hundreds of volunteers have come out to Pulaski County to help clean up what an EF-4 tornado left behind. Some of those volunteers included 35 Pulaski County Detention Center inmates.
