Many of the dogs are experiencing affection, comfort, and human interaction for the first time. The rescued dogs include a variety of pure and mixed breeds, including Yorkshire Terriers, Poodles, Cocker Spaniels, Doodle mixes, and more. The dogs will be available for adoption in the coming weeks.

A Long Island man captured video of an approximately 25-foot-long humpback whale near Jones Beach. The whale has been swimming in Sloop Channel for several days but appears to be both happy and healthy, according to the Town of Hempstead. Experts believe the whale may have been attracted to the abundance of fish in the bay due to the recent warm weather.
