For the first time in four months, early-morning commuters are driving over the southbound lanes of the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge, better known as the Big Mac Bridge. Barriers came down Sunday night, exactly 100 days after the fire. The emergency repairs were completed about a month ahead of schedule. Ohio transportation officials estimate the total cost of repairs coming in around $10.5 million. It was all paid for by the state.

The holiday season may be over, but the impact of community contributions to the Ruth Lyons Children's Fund is just beginning. Over the course of the fundraising season, more than $200,000 was raised for the Ruth Lyons Children's Fund. An additional $33,000 was added to the total from the sales of this year's Rookwood holiday ornament and attendance at the Ruth Lyons Night at the Cincinnati Nights of Lights.
