MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia kicked off a new era of WVU football with head coach Rich Rodriguez and many notable program alumni, including Darryl Talley, Adam “Pacman”’Jones and new coaches Pat White and Noel Devine. MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — The WVU Coliseum was an electric atmosphere Saturday night with the first-ever LED light show in front of a sold out Mountaineer crowd. WVU’s men’s basketball team defeated Utah 72 to 61, the Utes first game in Morgantown and the first game for former WVU head coach Josh Eilert on the other side. The night also celebrated the coal mining industry, wearing the Coal Rush jerseys in front of the crowd of 13,166. West Virginia returns home Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. to take on BYU.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A new era for WVU Basketball began Friday night with the first Coach Darian DeVries lead team taking the court at the WVU Coliseum. Fans got the chance to see the new team play an exhibition game against a former WVU player coached University of Charleston team. The Mountaineers defeated Coach James Long’s team 94-61. After the game, fans got a chance to meet the new players and coaches as well as get their autographs.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Despite the 28-16 loss to Iowa State, the WVU football program honored coal miners across the state of West Virginia in numerous ways Saturday night at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. From the debut of the Coal Rush uniform, to videos honoring the blue collar industry, to honoring some of the state’s miners on the field and even allowing them to take part in the Mountaineer Mantrip, hardworking West Virginians, who keep the lights on, were recognized.

PITTSBURGH – Pitt Panthers head coach Pat Narduzzi received a public reprimand Sunday evening. He was fined $5,000 by the Athletic Coast Conference for his postgame comments about the referees in the Backyard Brawl. “Some of the calls we got. Late hit out of bounds. They catch a ball with a hands to the face. I ain’t never seen anything like it,” Narduzzi said to an ESPN reporter on the field after the game.
