Two NYPD's Harbor Unit officers reunited with the dog they found swimming in the water. "It's restored my faith in humanity and it's affirmed for me, that no one is alone," Jack Ciapciak said. In his darkest hour, Ciapciak found light. On Jan. 14, 2016, he met and eventually fell in love with Jack Loretzen. The couple often took walks in Hudson River Park past all of the benches.

MARINE PARK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- The number of female officers in the NYPD has grown to 21%, but a closer look shows that the women now serving in the most elite units of the department are also on the rise and drawing attention. The women of the NYPD who work in many of the department's elite units have roughly 150 years between them. "You're seeing more and more that they are capable just as much as males. Why not?" said Giselle Rodriguez of the NYPD.

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- Firefighters from around the world are putting on their boxing gloves once again for the International Battle of the Badges. There's a lot of pride heading into the second edition of the charity event, according to FDNY Boxing Club President Bobby McGuire. "We have firefighters coming in from London, West Yorkshire, all over Ireland, as close as Yonkers, we have Denver, Atlanta, Massachusetts State Police," McGuire said.
