TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Pima County teens are using their summer break to build more than just memories—many are gaining real-world job experience through the Summer Youth Employment Program. The program places youth ages 14 to 21 in paid internships with government agencies and local businesses in the private and public sector across the county. One of those worksites includes the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, where teens are getting firsthand exposure to public service careers.

(KGUN) — As the Cody Fire continues to burn more than 1,000 acres in southern Pinal County, many Oracle residents are finally seeing live updates from local stations on their TVs — something they couldn’t get just one year ago. Until April 2024, homes in Oracle and other parts of southern Pinal County couldn’t access Tucson-based TV stations on satellite.

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (KGUN) — A key agenda item was removed from Wednesday night’s Oro Valley Town Council meeting — police pay. The ongoing contract negotiations between the Town and the two unions representing Oro Valley Police Department officers were expected to come to a head during the meeting. Instead, the item was removed, pushing any decision to June 4.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — A new Thai brunch concept is coming to Midtown Tucson, courtesy of the man behind the city’s three Tuk Tuk Thai restaurants. Bud Sayso hopes to open Kin Dee Thai by August inside the former home of Iron John's Brewing Company, located at 5350 E. Broadway Blvd in the Plaza at Williams Centre. Sayso launched his first Tuk Tuk Thai location on North Campbell Avenue in 2020 — at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic — when most small businesses were just trying to survive.
