At Manchester Crown Court on Friday (May 9), McCauly Brooker and Stephen Wilson were jailed on the second day of a two-day sentencing.

Police are cracking down on the growing issue of illegal e-bikes (Image: GMP) Several people have been arrested and a number of e-bikes have been seized following a day of police action in Oldham. In an effort to crackdown on illegal e-bikes in Derker, police helicopters were called in to spot users of the bikes, along with reckless drivers in the area.

The search for the 12-year-old has been called off after she was found on Thursday (Image: Newsquest) A girl from Oldham who went missing earlier this week after last being seen in Hollinwood has been found. Greater Manchester Police have said that 12-year-old Poppy, who was declared missing on Wednesday (May 7), was found yesterday (Thursday, May 8). She had last been seen on Roman Road in Hollinwood at 3pm on Tuesday.

Rachel Spence's son was born at Royal Oldham Hospital (Image: Anthony Moss) An Oldham mother is seeking damages of more than £1m against the NHS claiming medical procedures left her son with brain damage. Rachael Spence, who lives in Shaw, has launched a High Court claim on behalf of her young son. Papers in the claim, which have been made publicly available, say that Mrs Spence's son was born prematurely at 32 weeks at the Royal Oldham Hospital.

Lucy Powell has walked back her comments made about grooming gangs (Image: PA) Cabinet minister and MP for Manchester Central Lucy Powell has made an apology after she was accused of “dismissing” concerns over grooming gangs. The Commons Leader, who represents Failsworth as part of her constituency, addressed victims and survivors as she told the House that she was “very sorry” and the government wants “your truth to be heard wherever that truth leads”.
