Abigail Goddard, 26, provided incorrect turnover figures in order to access a greater loan, however she has now been disqualified and the company, ASG Modelling Ltd, has been liquidated.

    Aaron Stelmach-Purdie had a "leading role in the fraud" (Image: Kirsty O’Connor/PA) A "successful and accomplished soldier" from Oldham who stole nearly £1 million from the Ministry of Defence by submitting fraudulent expenses claims has been jailed. Former corporal Aaron Stelmach-Purdie ran the scam for just over a year between November 2014 and January 2016 whilst he worked as a clerk at the Ministry of Defence’s administrative headquarters in central London.

    3 1/1 Oldham Beer Festival returned to the borough over the weekend, seeing many people once again visiting Queen Elizabeth Hall to sample fantastic local beers. The festival, which was held from Friday (April 11) to Saturday (April 12), has been taking place for more than 30 years in the borough and celebrates local breweries producing delicious beers.
