After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, national discount retailer Big Lots has announced the closing of more than 55 additional stores across the country, including one in Lewisville. According to an Oct. 11 court filing, Big Lots plans to close its Orchard Village shopping mall location.

Indoor pickleball chain The Picklr is planning a new location in Lewisville. According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the more than 22,000-square-foot facility will be located in the Lakepointe Towne Crossing shopping center. Work on the facility is expected to begin Nov. 15 and wrap up in February, per the filing. The Lewisville location is one of 15 that are expected to open in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the next three to four years.
