HONESDALE — A big enthusiastic crowd turned out May 12 to help the Honesdale baseball team celebrate Senior Day at the Daniel J. O'Neill Sports Complex. The Hornets closed out their Lackawanna League regular season slate with a Division II battle against top-ranked Mid Valley. Meagher's historic leap covered an exact distance of 35 feet, 3.25 inches. It broke the previous mark set back in 1988 by Maggie Meagher Lonergan, who just happens to be Erin's cousin.

HONESDALE — Exciting plans are afoot to honor outstanding student-athletes who've left an indelible mark on Honesdale High School over the course of its nearly 150-year existence. Wayne Highlands officials recently announced the formation of a special committee tasked with creating a Wall of Fame exclusively for the greatest athletes and coaches in Hornet history. While some details are still in flux, the process of selecting members of the first-ever Wall of Fame class is well underway.
