    For the 58th season, the tradition of music twice every week for much of the summer comes back to Honesdale's Central Park starting June 16. A variety of performances from fiddling to classic pop to modern are lined up. Hosted by Wayne County Creative Arts Council (WCCAC), concerts are held Monday and Thursday evenings from June 16 through July 28. There is no concert Monday, June 30; a concert Tuesday, July 1, leads up the evening's Independence Day fireworks display sent aloft from Irving Cliff.

    The sixth annual 24-hour NEPA Gives fundraising event, in which numerous nonprofit organizations in northeastern Pennsylvania receive online donations, is set for 7 p.m. June 5 through 7 p.m. June 6. Connor Simon, representing the Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF), made the announcement to the county commissioners on May 28. He said that WCCF is one of seven foundations in the region partnering in this extravaganza of donating.

    Multiple people were taken away from a Honesdale restaurant by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on May 29, according to Honesdale Mayor Derek Williams. He was alerted to the agency's presence at the courthouse, where he saw agents parked out front. "About a half dozen of them went inside the courthouse, then came back out. They got in vehicles, moved around to the back of the courthouse in their vehicles. We followed them around there and witnessed them put on their gear," Williams said.
