    Demolition of the Skinners Falls Bridge began April 17 with the span on the New York side of the Delaware River. Demolition had been delayed a week due to a federal lawsuit filed by Damascus Citizens for Sustainability and Cynthia Nash. It proceeded after an April 15 ruling from U.S. District Judge Karoline Mehalchick denying their request to stop the imminent demolition of the bridge.

The New York span of the Skinners Falls/Milanville bridge came down not on its own, but was torn down by construction equipment in the morning sunshine April 17. No explosives were used, as had been expected. Official word of when the middle pier and the Pennsylvania span were being dismantled by construction equipment was still pending from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as of mid-afternoon April 17.
