Earlier this month, before a striking backdrop of 171 portraits of extraordinary women who have made a lasting impact on the state, Delaware Gov. Matt Meyer and Lt. Gov. Kyle Evans Gay officially proclaimed Women’s History Month. The signing, held at the Delaware Women's Hall of Fame Portrait Gallery, currently on display at the University of Delaware, was more than just a ceremony.

The Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware was once again recognized as a top undergraduate business school by Poets&Quants for Undergrads, a leading publication, by placing No. 52 in the 2025 rankings. Lerner College jumped 13 spots from last year, one of just six schools to post double-digit rises from 2024, to rank 52nd out of 104 participating schools.

Prof. Conrade joined the University’s Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management (now the Department of Hospitality and Sport Business Management in the Lerner College) in 1996, retiring in 2009. After retirement, he continued to teach in the department as adjunct faculty for another seven years. His colleagues shared their reflections. Dear UD Community, I am incredibly saddened to share the news that several members of the figure skating community connected to the University of Delaware were among those who tragically lost their lives in an aircraft collision last night in Washington, DC. At this time, we are aware that Sasha Kirsanov, a former UD Figure Skating Club coach, was on the airplane. We believe two young skaters who were members of the UD Figure Skating Club also were on board.
