The Raiders wrapped up three weeks of workouts in June on Thursday. BROOKLAND — Brookland athletic director Bobby Gross was pleasantly surprised earlier this month when the Arkansas Activities Association released enrollment numbers for the 2026-28 classification cycle. With a three-year average enrollment of 672 students in grades 9-11, Brookland will remain in Class 4A for all sports except football for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years. HOXIE — Jonesboro earned top honors Tuesday in the annual Beast of the East 7-on-7 high school football tournament. The Hurricane won four games to claim first place in the 12-team Gold bracket, defeating Gosnell 27-0 in the finals. Jonesboro defeated East Poinsett County, Paragould and Searcy in the earlier rounds of bracket play.

Thompson signed his letter of intent to play for the Scots during a ceremony Thursday afternoon at Paragould High School.
