Workers in Ireland will soon have the option to work beyond the official State pension age in return for larger payments. From Monday 1 January 2024, Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys is bringing in the new scheme which could see employees work until they're 70. It will give those retiring from January onward the choice to defer their State pension and work longer in exchange for a larger pension when they retire.
