Police are investigating multiple calls from concerned South Bay residents about a man recording himself saying obscene things to women and posting the videos on social media. “The Hermosa Beach Police Department is aware of multiple videos circulating on social media of an individual who has been live streaming throughout the city,” the Department stated in its post on Instagram Wednesday.

A civil rights lawsuit has been filed against the Los Angeles Police Department after officers fatally shot a transgender woman at a motel last month. The family of Linda Becerra Moran says that she was suffering from a mental health crisis when she called 911 for help on Feb. 7. Body cam footage released by the LAPD shows Moran first holding a knife to her neck and eventually approaching officers, who opened fire. She succumbed to her wounds several weeks later.

The family of Erik and Lyle Menendez says they are relieved that California Gov. Gavin Newsom is paying attention to the brothers’ case, calling it an exciting time. While there is no guarantee they will be released, the family feels hopeful knowing that someone in power is reviewing their situation. “They have shown remorse decade after decade. I can personally attest to that,” said Anamaria Baralt, a cousin of Erik and Lyle.

Police are investigating the violent beating of a man by a group of juveniles that was caught on video in the Carthay neighborhood of Los Angeles over the weekend. The incident was reported around 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard and McCarthy Vista when, for unknown reasons, a driver became involved in a dispute with some minors.
