The Erith Group, national demolition experts, have been tasked with demolishing the unit in the Chantry Centre to make way for the new The Lights theatre. Test Valley Borough Council, which is delivering the project, will work with The Erith Group over the coming weeks to install hoardings and carry out initial site work.

Share Salisbury (A Library of Things) received £500 from Salisbury Reds' Community Fund. The social enterprise allows people to borrow items such as carpet cleaners, gardening tools, and camping equipment instead of buying them. Founder of Share Salisbury, Eva McHugh, said: "Local people can either borrow one-off items from us for a small fee - or they can pay a minimal monthly membership, giving them access to a number of ‘borrows’.

The Chalke Valley History Festival, which is taking place from Monday, June 24 to Sunday, June 30, will feature a number of historians, authors and other figures exploring different historical events and topics. The Second World War Morning on Thursday, June 27 will focus on the war in the Far East and the Pacific. Phil Craig and Robert Lyman will examine the war in Southeast Asia and how it affected the post-war drive for independence and ultimately partition in India.

Seven popular acts from the area will perform on Sunday, May 25, from 4pm to 10pm. Entry is free and there will be street food from Smoke Tin Kitchen and award-winning beers from Dark Revolution. AC/DC tribute band BC/DC will headline the event. The line-up includes up-and-coming singer-songwriter Lucy Trigwell, Emo darlings '3MO', quirky folk duo 'Folk'd About', original rockers 'Innovator', top covers band 'Slingshot', and Lump who are the winners of Salisbury's best band and best live act.
