This Full Moon is called the Pink Moon, but this is more to do with the colour of spring flowers than the appearance of the moon itself.

Two of John Rowe's fairy houses in Truro woodland (John Rowe)Truro’s popular Enchanted Fairy Trail is to be placed on a firmer footing, thanks to a collaboration between its creator and Truro City Council. The trail consists of around 80 wooden houses created by John Rowe in council-owned woodland bordering the Malabar and Coosebean districts of the city. Mr Rowe, 73, launched the trail during lockdown to boost morale, making all the fairy houses and doors himself.

Author-conservationist Merlin Hanbury-Tenison (Jo Buckley Photography)Author and conservationist Merlin Hanbury-Tenison will discuss his new book Our Oaken Bones: Reviving a Family, a Farm and Britain’s Ancient Rainforests on two dates at the end of April. He will speak at Clemo Books, Newquay (£5) on Friday, April 25 at 7pm, and at Falmouth Poly on Tuesday, April 29 (£8) from 6.30pm as part of the Wayward Book Festival. Both talks will be followed by a Q&A and a book signing session.
