A small building in Sugar House that has housed several different bakeries and coffee shops over the years will soon have a new look and a new occupant. The blue building at 1751 S. 1100 East, most recently the home of Brownies! Brownies! Brownies!, is going to be the new home of Hruska's Kolaches, which will be moving its Salt Lake City headquarters out of its spot at 2030 S. 900 East.

Hello, Eaters! You may have seen my recent story about Star of India reopening in a new space at 1000 S. Main St., Suite 102 in Salt Lake City's Ballpark neighborhood. Here is the short version of what happened: Last summer, a break-in at Star of India's old location on North Temple forced the Indian restaurant to shut down, and in late March, they were able to open their doors again.

Easter is coming late this year - which should give you plenty of time to make your plans for a glorious feast, and give Mother Nature time to conjure up some warm spring weather for the occasion. Easter Sunday 2025 falls on April 20, a full 20 days after the 2024 holiday, which fell on March 31. If cooking isn't in your Easter plans this year, here is a list of some of the restaurants in and around Salt Lake City and Park City that are serving special meals and buffets in honor of the holiday.

Two Salt Lake City bars - including a closed establishment that Sugar House residents will remember - received liquor licenses Thursday, as well as seven restaurants. The Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services' (DABS) liquor commission awarded licenses to Settlers Lounge, inside Eight Settlers Distillery, at 7321 Canyon Centre Parkway in Cottonwood Heights, and to a new bar simply called Fiddler's, which will be opening in the old Fiddler's Elbow building at 1063 E.
