ODOC will assume operational control on July 25, a major milestone in strengthening the agency’s transformative presence.

Illegal marijuana operation shut down in Kiowa County

KIOWA CO, Okla. (KSWO) - An illegal marijuana operation has been shut down in Kiowa County. As part of an investigation into illegal sales and obtaining a registration by fraud, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) served a search warrant at Bunny Grows, LLC in Lone Wolf. That’s where agents seized more than 5,000 marijuana plants and over 475 lbs of processed marijuana. Two people were arrested, and two were detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

City of Walters approves Mutual Aid Request

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - The City of Walters held an emergency City Council meeting yesterday to approve a resolution that would authorize a Mutual Aid Request to the Oklahoma Floodplain Managers Association. Resolution 899 would allow the Disaster Response Team to come to Cotton County to assist with flood recovery efforts and provide support to the community. Residents will also be able to access financial aid through FEMA and the National Flood Insurance Program.

Wichita Falls, Texas- Wichita County and Wichita Falls officials have signed Disaster Declarations in anticipation of possible life-threatening flooding in the area. The Declaration of Disaster opens up a pathway to State and Federal aid should it be required. The Wichita River is currently rising after recent heavy rains and is expected to continue to rise as more rain is forecasted. OSU’s Rangel to enter transfer portal

STILLWATER, Okla. (KSWO) - The Oklahoma State football team will have a new starting Quarterback in 2025. According to a CBS report, redshirt junior QB Garret Rangel is entering the transfer portal. Rangel started five games at OSU over the last three seasons, throwing eight touchdown passes in the process. His 20-24 season ended prematurely due to a broken collarbone. His departure comes just days after redshirt freshman Maeliuaki Smith hit the portal.
