    Peterborough’s Porter Martone is ranked sixth heading into the NHL Central Scouting’s Final Draft Rankings for the 2025 NHL draft. A list of players to be drafted were released on Tuesday and includes 170 players form the CHL. Of these, 64 players are in the OHL, including Martone who plays for the Brampton Steelheads. The list includes 38 OHL forwards, 19 defencemen and seven goaltenders.

    With more inclimate weather being forecast for today (Wednesday), Peterborough Police are reminding residents to only call 911 in an emergency situation. Police sent out the reminder on Wednesday morning (April 2), ahead of freezing rain and rainfall warnings issued by Environment Canada. According to Environment Canada, more freezing rain throughout the Peterborough region is expected, but it will not be nearly as significant as last weekend’s ice storm.
