    Eleanor Parkinson has big ambitions for a 12-year-old and the drive to back it up. In just her third year of competitive gymnastics Nory, as her coaches and teammates call her, won the Gymnastics Ontario Level V All-Around championship at the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics provincial championships in Angus held April 26-27. She did it by winning the gold medal on bars and beam, a silver medal on floor exercise while placing fourth on vault.

    Mike Oke welcomes the flexibility created by changes to the annual CHL Import Draft. On Wednesday, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced a rule change which will allow teams to carry three import players each, up from the previous limit of two, starting with the 2025-26 season. As a result, it will expand its annual import draft, to be held on July 2, from two to three rounds. In addition, teams can now trade their import picks, with a trade deadline of June 30.

The New York City native, who moved to Buffalo when he was 10 and was coached by Petes alumnus Patrick Kaleta was one of three U.S. born players at the Petes Development Camp at the Peterborough Memorial Centre (PMC) Friday through Sunday.
