Ford, who now routinely appears on U.S. network news to voice his grievances with Trump, said he was “dumbfounded” by the president’s latest move to slap an additional 25 per cent tariff on imports of steel and aluminum to the United States. The premier called the move a “tax” on American products, and said it would hurt the American consumers and workers in the long run.

    The long-delayed Eglinton Crosstown LRT is on track for a September opening, Premier Doug Ford told 680 NewsRadio on Tuesday. Ford added that the Metrolinx project will be handed over to the TTC in the coming weeks. “And thank God, that’s all I have to say about that,” Ford said, sounding exasperated with the 14-year-long saga. Construction on the Eglinton Crosstown began under the previous Ontario Liberal government and a different Metrolinx management in 2011.

    Two men from British Columbia have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a Mississauga businessman who was gunned down in a daylight shooting last month. Peel Regional Police (PRP) officers were called to Tranmere Drive and Telford Way, near Dixie and Derry roads, just before noon on May 14. Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital with critical injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

    Sports media mogul and pizza review king Dave Portnoy was the target of an anti-Semitic slur during a recent visit to Toronto. Portnoy, who is Jewish, was in the Big Smoke for a Bitcoin conference and had just ordered a pizza at Terrazza on Harbord Street when someone yelled “F**k the Jews” during one of his wildly popular “One Bite” online reviews. “There we go,” a dismayed Portnoy responded. Several youths who were watching the review started laughing, and Portnoy admonished them.

    York Regional Police are searching for as many as four male suspects following an alleged armed attempted carjacking in Markham that saw the victim assaulted and injured. Police said the victim’s vehicle was parked in a commercial plaza in the area of Yonge Street and Glen Cameron Road at around 10 p.m. on May 28, and as he returned to his car, three unknown men approached, with one brandishing a firearm.
