We don't have joy. Our heart is still broken. We will not give up, we will not get tired. GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Devos Place was filled with 850 volunteers on Tuesday to help during SpartanNash’s Helping Hands Day event. After helping several victims of Hurricane Beryl and Helen in its first year, the organization decided to partner with Convoy of Hope for its second year. "We have cereals. We have, you know, fruit snacks. We have pasta, pasta sauce, and soup. The boxes will feed a family of four for five days,” said SpartanNash manager of corporate giving, Dawn Bredeweg.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Two years after her death, the family of a West Michigan woman is suing her former husband and claims he is involved in her death. Sarah Shanks, formerly Sarah Clawson, died in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Jan. 29, 2023. Shanks’ family and friends said her kids were the joy of her life. “They were the most important thing in her life. They were the best thing she ever did,” said her friend Molly Stevens. Molly Stevens grew up with Shanks and remained her friend over the years.

On Tuesday, frosty boy opened to customers for the season. 13 ON YOUR SIDE spoke with customers lined up outside the shop on Tuesday, they told us some of their favorite ice cream flavors. "I'm channeling my inner grandma I got a pistachio,” said Sarah Dolecki. "Strawberry ice cream,” said John Vecchio. "I always get the vanilla and lemon twist.
