MICHIGAN, USA — During CPR Awareness Week, the American Heart Association encourages everyone to get trained in the lifesaving technique. The American Heart Association says about 90% of people who endure out-of-hospital cardiac arrests die. Only about 10% survive. If this happens, the AHA says the victim's survival depends on getting CPR immediately. While there are different levels and types of CPR, Nurse Gwen Fosse told 13 ON YOUR SIDE that even simple compressions can make a huge difference.
