HOLLAND, Mich. — In just over a week, the city of Holland and its prized legions of tulips are expected to transform from buds to blooms. The shallow roots of hundreds of thousands of tulips in the city, alongside millions more at a local family farm, are set to breathe life into the deep roots of the city's Dutch history that spans nearly two centuries. And, according to one local organizer, it's set to happen "right on time" for the city's biggest event of the year: the Tulip Time Festival.

MUSKEGON, Mich. — Old conveyor belts and dilapidated brick walls of Muskegon's old Shaw Walker Furniture Factory building tell stories. "We're looking at a building that was started by two guys with a good idea back in 1899 and it became the biggest furniture factory in the world," said Parkland Properties of Michigan President Jon Rooks. "Whether it was a brother, a sister or an uncle, some relative worked here," he said of Muskegon's past population.

On a trip to celebrate her mother's one-year anniversary of entering the church, Corcoran's wife had taken Xavier with them.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A pool of possible jurors arrived at a Grand Rapids courthouse Monday afternoon ahead of the trial of former Grand Rapids Police officer Christopher Schurr, who is accused of murdering Patrick Lyoya during a traffic stop in April of 2023. Schurr's trial is to take place beginning Monday, April 28, at the Kent County 17th Circuit Court, presided over by the Honorable Christina Mims.

NORTON SHORES, Mich. — Back in March, 13 ON YOUR SIDE shared a story about AgeWell Services gearing up for their annual Heels for Meals fundraiser. That fundraiser was Thursday, April 17 at Trillium Events in Spring Lake, with AgeWell bringing in thousands. Now, the final numbers are in. Just that night, more than $33,000 was raised. In total, more than $55,000 was raised when you include sponsorships and ticket sales.
