The Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated nearly a century of service to Wayne County, with members gathering to commemorate the chamber’s 95th anniversary. The recent event was originally scheduled to be held on the Ribeyes Steakhouse patio, but due to the weather, it was relocated to a private room on the second floor inside the building. Julie Beck, president of the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce, said that moving the event caused some concerns.

Last Thursday, the Town of Warsaw and Warsaw Chamber of Commerce held a community gathering at the Parks and Recreation gym. Wallace Rose Hill recently held an event to launch their new agricultural drone program called FLOCK. It was held on Feb. 11 in the Wallace Rose Hill High School Agriculture Classroom at 9:00 a.m.During the event a check for $20,000 was presented, written out to Duplin County High School. The funding was provided by a grant through the NC Education and Workforce Innovation Commission along with support from House of Raeford’s nonprofit outreach program called FLOCK.
