    Two dozen trainees make their way to a circle of chairs at a retreat center near Fort Collins. It is day two of facilitator training, learning how to sit with people through psychedelic experiences. Elemental Psychedelics, a Fort Collins-based, state-approved training organization is leading the event.     Friends and family say Manny Pargman would light up a room— he was fun. He played the drums and DJ’ed. In high school, Manny was hired as a party motivator for kids. “If you wanted to have a good time, you made sure Manny was there,” said his father, Ben Pargman. The 18-year-old CU Boulder student had a big smile and lots of dark curly hair. Days after being home in Atlanta for Thanksgiving break, he died by suicide.

Now, his administration is attempting to reduce the funds it gives out, based on DEI efforts at the school district-level and has closed down one of the department’s research arms. Recent news reports suggest that the president is preparing an executive order to shut down the Education Department completely.

    A snowboarder was found dead by ski patrol at Winter Park Resort on Sunday, Jan. 26, following an hours-long search. People who were with the individual that day alerted responders at 4 p.m. that the person was missing on the mountain. With limited visibility, as the sun set, ski patrol finally found the snowboarder at 7:30 that night, in the trees off of the Mary Jane Trail, an intermediate, open run. The Grand County Coroner is still investigating the cause of death.

She plays a video on her phone to show why. “Okay, so I came to his house to bring in some groceries. You can see he's pretty disheveled,” said Maria. In the video, John walks towards her car. His coat is ripped, his feet are bare.
