(WSAZ) - COVID-19 shots will no longer be recommended for healthy children and pregnant women, according to U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. “The COVID vaccine for healthy children and healthy pregnant women has been removed from the CDC recommended immunization schedule,” Kennedy said in his announcement on social media Tuesday.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The city of Huntington is a step closer to opening a new fire station in the Westmoreland neighborhood. The station will be located at 3200 Piedmont Road in Huntington. City leaders and U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., were on hand to dedicate the future home of the new station. Project leaders escaped the rainy weather in the Westmoreland Women’s Club for a dedication ceremony of the future new station.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - It has now been two decades since four teenagers were shot and killed on Charleston Avenue in Huntington. It happened about 4:30 a.m. on May 22, 2005. Megan Poston, Michael Dillon, Eddrick Clark, and Donte Ward all died in the shooting. No arrests have been made. It’s a case that marked a before and after point for the entire community. WSAZ‘s Lesya Feinstein sat down with two current and one former WSAZ reporter about the tragedy they all agree still feels surreal today.

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) - The Lawrence County Veterans Service Office got a kick start to this Memorial Day weekend with a Flags of Honor Ceremony to remember fallen soldiers. The courthouse lawn, covered in red white and blue. Each flag, labeled with a name of a fallen soldier, veterans from Lawrence County who paid the ultimate price.

This weekend is your chance, Saturday and Sunday are test dates to become a Huntington police officer and they’re looking for the city’s best. “Somebody that’s willing to do the right thing when no one’s looking,” said HPD Cpl. Nick Bloomfield.
