BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - An emergency hearing is being held at the Boone County Courthouse regarding document issues for the mother charged in the death of her 14-year-old daughter. According to the Boone County Sheriff, an emergency hearing for Julie Miller was set for early Thursday afternoon. Fourteen-year-old Kyneddi Miller’s body was found emaciated and in a skeletal state on April 17.

MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A rising senior at Mingo Central High School was hit and killed on U.S. 119 -- another tragedy involving a young person on a busy roadway. WSAZ’s Sarah Sager went to Williamson on Thursday to speak with Josh Thomas’s parents. They told her their boy left this world with a smile on his face in his parents’ arms. And that smile is what they want everyone to remember. His mother, April Thomas, said Josh and his pet dog Charlie were inseparable.

DELBARTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - We have a follow-up to 53 Days, the WSAZ Investigation into the disappearance and tragic end for Chuck Carroll. In January 2022, we first told viewers about Chuck, a man with dementia who was taken to the hospital but was able to walk away and die. His body was found weeks later -- just blocks from the hospital. During Chuck’s disappearance and after his death, we took a closer look at all that went wrong in our documentary called 53 Days.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The Secretary of West Virginia Department of Transportation was pulled over Tuesday, Feb. 20 for ‘driving erratically’, according to the Charleston Police Department. Around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, officers with the Charleston Police Department received a call that an off-duty West Virginia State trooper witnessed and was currently following a driver traveling erratically on the east end of Charleston.
