    CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Early voting has officially begun, and there are several school districts with a bond on their ballots looking to gain support. "We have a bond election that's going on and it's going to be $15 million," said Agua Dulce ISD Supt. Jimmy Padilla. Padilla said these upgrades are crucial to improving the district, starting with the elementary school, which was built in 1981. "We want to be able to come in and remodel it," he said.

    CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A surge in whooping cough cases not just across the nation, but right here in the Coastal Bend. "As of today we have received 58 cases here in Nueces County which is a number that is more elevated than it is used to be," said Dr. Dante Gonzalez who oversees the Public Health Department. That number is double the cases of whooping cough or pertussis than the Coastal Bend had for the entire 2024 and it's the most cases in more than a decade.
