Every year, more than 5,000 babies are born with Down syndrome in the United States. That’s according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There’s a special organization that works to make sure those parents have support and connections from the very start. Jack’s Basket was started in Minnesota more than a decade ago.

As food prices increase and some resources and donations decrease, providing that support is becoming more of a challenge. Helping Hands of St. Louis has been providing support to those in need for decades and the nonprofit is seeing an increase in demand for all of its programs. At the same time, there’s also an increase in the need for donations.
