TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Toledo is home to dozens of pieces of public art. That includes everything from large-scale sculptures to benches. It can be found all over the city and there’s a new way to check it all out. All you have to do is pick up your phone and download an app. It’s been said that public art is a critical part of any successful community and Toledo certainly subscribes to that philosophy. The Art in Public Places, also known as the Percent for Art program, started in the late 1970s.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Toledo Humane Society is always a busy place, but that is especially true right now. Just about every inch of space at the shelter is being used due in large part to kitten season!Space is truly at a premium. One example is a kitten nursery that used to be a break room for employees. In addition to the cramped quarters, cruelty investigators are also handling a lot of cases right now. Joe Dirt is one of them. If you’re curious, he’s named after the movie.

Experts said the spotted lanternfly was first found in the United States about a decade ago in Pennsylvania. The insect is a hitchhiker of sorts so they continue to spread by catching rides on things like trains, cars and trucks.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - People are all abuzz about a Bellevue business. It’s called Cherry City Honey Farms, and their products can be found all over the country. “We’re a large apiary, which is a fancy name for a bee farm. In a full season, we’ll have 70-80 hives. It’s a lot of bees, but we need a lot because we sell a lot of honey. We ship product all over the continental United States,” Gary Wylie, the head beekeeper, said. Gary and his wife, Tami, started Cherry City Honey about 10 years ago.
