TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Toledo area is home to some impressive young people. And that includes a group of high school students who are part of a special program through Leadership Toledo. Youth in Philanthropy Encouraging Excellence, or YIPEE for short. It’s a partnership with the Leadership Toledo and the Greater Toledo Community Foundation. It’s for high school juniors and seniors. The goal is to teach them about the value of giving back.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Toledo is the hometown of several successful boxers and now another name can be added to the list. A local teen just brought home the hardware from a huge national tournament for amateurs. 18-year-old Izaiah Darden stepped into the ring at the Golden Gloves National Tournament of Champions in Tulsa, Oklahoma, earlier this month and came home a champion. Darden was first introduced to boxing 10 years ago at the age of eight.

Sally’s Market is a busy place. Hundreds of families are helped every month and that need for help has increased significantly in the last year.

PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WTVG) - We live in a region with so many amazing outdoor spaces to enjoy and explore. The W.W. Knight Preserve in Perrysburg is one of them. With summer right around the corner, plenty of parents are looking for options for the kiddos. And the preserve has plenty of activities for little explorers. The preserve is a beautiful example of the diverse habitats throughout our region. The natural areas found at the 44-acre site include wetlands, native prairies and woods.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Continuing coverage of a story that has stunned the Perrysburg community and beyond. A man is facing forgery charges after he posed as a teenager and enrolled at Perrysburg High School. Police say that Anthony Labrador Sierra duped the school by providing a false birth certificate. That was in November of 2023. The document stated he was born in 2007. Turns out, he was actually born in 2001, and is currently 24 years old.
